The SEO Journey

SEO JourneyToday marks the beginning of a new SEO journey that each of you are invited to follow. This journey involves a completely random niche website project that will take us through a six month, step-by-step, documented process that will hopefully lead to solid ranking in all major search engines.

Here is what I plan on doing…

One: Establishing the Site
I’ve purchased a VERY good niche domain name, with both targeted keywords in the URL. I will not make this URL, or the site public for at least six weeks because I don’t want other SEO minds swarming in on the niche to muck up the work involved.

I will set up a Wordpress powered blog, create sub sections (this niche covers a lot of ground), set up affiliates for each sub section, and begin creating unique, original content.

Two: Documentation
I will post an update as to the progress here on FreshySEO. I plan on doing a weekly post, which will explain the steps taken, the analytic data, and the revenue stats for each week.

Three: Collaboration
At about six to eight weeks I will reveal the domain, and begin looking for input from the community so that you can view the progress, make suggestions, learn from what I do, and help me learn from what you do.

Why am I doing this?
I have two sites in particular that do extremely well for niche areas. One of them enjoys 5,000+ unique visits per day and has a high authority level for the political realm. A few weeks back a friend of mine asked if I could create a step-by-step guide on exactly what I did and how I got the site where it is as opposed to day one.

Because the site has been a two year project, I couldn’t remember all that I had done. So, I decided to go after a new niche and document the entire process. Hopefully this will help both me, as well as anyone else who might like to watch all of this unfold.

Starting late next week I’ll post updates and begin the weekly project report here at FreshySEO.com. Make sure you grab the RSS feed to help stay up to date.

    Thanks for this Eric!

We will (all) hopefully learn from his exercise.

A question Eric, you said; “a completely random niche website project”. How can it be random when the keyword niche is already defined by the URL (- “both targeted keywords in the URL”)?
